This is one of my go-to healthy cafes in Ruzafa. It’s the perfect place to grab something healthy, have some downtime on their patio, listen to live music and follow a workshop while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere. But it doesn’t stop there, Artysana offers even more goodness. Artists and art enthusiasts of Valencia, stay tuned…
I

t hasn’t been very easy to find a cafe in Ruzafa that offers homemade, healthy food for an affordable price, let alone something vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free. But, we’ve found it! ArtySana has been one of my go-to healthy cafes since I moved here, and that’s not just because of their food.

This small cafe is such a treasure. It’s very cute, creative, and cozy, with a laid-back atmosphere. There’s a small terrace as well as a patio full of plants. Inside, you can find lots of artwork from several artists. It definitely gives off an artsy “living room” vibe, me encanta! They have Wifi, so you can easily work from this place in case you work remotely.

The people from ArtySana are very friendly, welcoming, and open-minded. Besides human beings, they like dogs too – so you can definitely take your furry friends with you. Need we say more?! Oh yes, let’s talk about the food.

Homemade, healthy, fresh & local
The food is homemade, healthy, and prepared with fresh, local ingredients. You can find lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options on the menu too. ArtySana aims to make meals as healthy and delicious as possible. Well, they definitely don’t fail in that!
If you have any specific needs, just ask them and they’d be happy to make something special for you. Fish is on their menu too – but if you’re a meat-lover, this is not the place for you.

Now, what is a snack or meal without a drink? We need liquids too. Their homemade juices, kombuchas, and smoothies are just as good. But if you’re craving something else, good news: they have cocktails, soft drinks, tea, Valencian wines, and craft beers.
ArtySana is also famous for their great coffee. There are plenty of options to choose from, from Espresso to Chai Latte. They have plant-based milk such as almond, coconut, and soy.
My favorite coffees are the Latte Macchiato and Turmeric Latte aka Golden Milk. So even if you’re not a big fan of caffeine or can’t always handle it that well (like me)  you can still enjoy a delicious cup of their hot stuff.

Gazpacho, tostada with avocado & tomato, and a sandwich with avocado, humus, tomato & cucumber. Yummmm!

Cheap menus & our favorites
Definitely try out their cheap menus
They have a brunch menu for €11,- which includes a drink, a starter such as fresh fruit or yogurt, a tostada (toast) or sandwich, desserts like carrot cake, vegan chocolate truffles, and a cup of coffee or tea.
Their menú medio día (midday menu) is only €12,- and includes a drink, a starter such as salad or gazpacho, a main dish such as a salad, sandwich, or veggie burger, dessert and a cup of coffee or tea.

Some of our ArtySana favorites are their gazpacho, sandwich with avocado, humus, tomato and cucumber, apple-ginger kombucha, and carrot cake. But honestly, it’s hard to choose, everything tastes so good.

A platform for artists
All of the above totally convinced me, but there’s even more goodness.
As they say themselves, ArtySana is more than a cafe, it’s a collaboration of talents. They offer beginning artists a platform whether they are musicians, designers, illustrators, poets, photographers, or writers. This gives the creatives an opportunity to get out of their shells, explore their talents, develop their skills, connect with other artists and build a portfolio.

I have a professional background in music and as a creative myself, I definitely appreciate these kinds of collaborations. I know how important it is to find a platform when you’re just starting. So if you’re a beginning artist and want to show your talent, the people from ArtySana would be more than happy to welcome and support you. You can contact them through Facebook, phone, or just visit them.

Events
They organize events such as small concerts, language exchanges, lectures, talks, art exhibitions, movie nights, book clubs, different kinds of workshops, and much more. So, what are you waiting for? ;-)

My friend Fleur was really excited to eat. Of course, who wouldn’t be?

Free advice

  • Book a table if you want to be sure to have a spot during the weekend, this is a popular place – and now you probably understand why. Check the location, because they also have a cafe in Cabanyal.
  • If you eat gluten-free but are craving bread, don’t fret! They have enough gluten-free options.
